Happy, Healthy You – Take Stock of Your Life

With the beginning of 2019 ahead of us, we all have a beautiful, clean slate to create the life we truly desire. Now is as good as time as any to take stock of where we are in all the areas that truly matter to us. We can refocus and recommit to what’s important to our physical, emotional, and mental well being. I know… I have my shiny new planner for 2019, and I have already started to schedule different areas of self care into my routine.

‍‍ ‍‍‍‍For me, the first area that always comes to my mind is, where am I in relation to my health and fitness goals. Caring for your body is one of the most important investments you can ever make. It’s good to recommit to yourself and your goals. I am not just talking about the number on the scale, but what it will take for you to reach optimum health and vitality‍‍. ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍ ‍‍

‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍Now’s the time to take charge of your health by taking full responsibility for where you currently are at. Change IS possible. I suggest taking the extra time to learn about nutrition, exercise, healthy cooking, or otherways to get a stronger, healthier body. I know I love to find new healthy recipes to feed my family to help us stay on the health and wellness wagon. Becoming educated and experienced in what your body needs to be healthy, takes time and commitment but it is well worth it. How about changing up your exercise routine and making new fitness goals? I know I have. I always find it beneficial to go back to what I love to do, and then I will stick to it.

‍‍Its also important to tune in and listen to your body; as many of us can get so stuck in our heads and busy our routine, that we can easily miss what our body is telling us. What part of your body feels strong, or weak? Are you carrying tension or have discomfort anywhere? Are you getting enough sleep each night? Are you making sure to take periodic breaks of quiet time to de-stress, before it builds up? Is there a health related concern weighing on your mind? Maybe you need to schedule some appointments for the routine checkups you have neglected. How about a new makeover, with haircut, color, manicure, or facial, to lift your spirits and make you feel like a brand new person? How about de-cluttering your surroundings and/or refreshing your wardrobe? 

‍‍ ‍‍‍‍‍‍Really tuning in to our bodies also means checking in with how we are doing emotionally and mentally. How is our emotional health and well being? What about our close relationships? Are you voicing your needs in order to get them met? Do we have negative people in our lives that we need to set boundaries with? Having the right, caring emotional support in our lives makes all the difference in the world.

Taking stock of our lives, making our health a priority and reaching our desired goals is an ongoing process. Its helpful to make a plan of action. All of us at AZ Medical Weight Control are dedicated and committed to your success. Here’s to a Happy and Healthy You in 2019!
